Dr. Volker Gert Winkler

Dateline: McKenzie, TN         A memorial service for Volker Gert Winkler M.D., 65, is 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Bethel University Crisp Arena, located beside the Vera Lowe Student Center. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 1, 2018, 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 2, 2018 12:00 pm – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and Saturday 8:00 a.m. until service time at Bethel’s Crisp Arena. Dr. Winkler, family physician and partner of McKenzie Medical Centers, died February 24, 2018 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was born in Heidelberg, Germany on April 17, 1952, to Karl Heinz Winkler and Ingeborg Margarete Meyer Winkler. He was a member of Accountable Care Organization (ACO). He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Tina Winkler, and two sisters Renata Winkler and Marianne Winkler.   Survivors include his daughters Kirsten (Jeffrey) Sass of McKenzie, Robyn (Fred) Hatler of McKenzie, sons Jesse Winkler of McKenzie, Benjamin Winkler of McKenzie, Ty Winkler of Paris and Roman Winkler of McKenzie, a sister Katherine(Paul) Winkler-Schwartzentruber of Nova Scotia, Canada, a brother Peter (Marylou) Winkler of Ottawa, Ontario Canada, three grandchildren AlyssaBella Sass, Sebastian Sass and Caitlyn Hatler.
