Mary Ezell Townsend

    Dateline: McKenzie, TN   Services for Mary Ezell Townsend, 84, will be held Monday, July 31, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home with Brother Bud Ricketts officiating.  Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery near the Carroll County Airport between McKenzie and Huntingdon.  The family will receive friends on Monday, July 31, 2017 from 11:00 am until service time.  Mrs. Townsend, a retired factory worker and healthcare assistant who worked for Henry I. Siegel (HIS), Brown Shoe Company and Gaines Manufacturing Company in McKenzie and Huntingdon Health and Rehab, died Thursday, July 27, 2017 at her residence.  She was born on September 27, 1932 in Hohenwald, TN to George Washington and Beulah Cordelia “Delia” Savage Chesser.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Paul Townsend who died August 31, 2014, and a granddaughter Sherry Denise Auvenshine.    Survivors include three daughters Barbara Ann Franklin, Melinda Kay Mayberry, Sue Townsend, a son Paul Ray Townsend all of McKenzie, a sister Ruby Lee of Florida, six grandchildren five great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, and one great-great-great grandson .    Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  For more information please call (731) 352-4848 or visit www.brummittmckenziefuneralhome.com.
