  Dateline: McKenzie, Tennessee   Memorial services for Walter Alden Rich, 77, will be held Sunday, March 19, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the McKenzie First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.  Interment will be private in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in McKenzie with US Army Military Honors performed.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Sunday, March 19, 2017 from 1:00 pm until service time with all visitation being at the church.  Mr. Rich, a Mechanical Engineer for Pitney Bowes, United Airlines and Perkin Elmer Companies, died Friday, March 10, 2017 at his residence.  He was born on April 6, 1939 in Stamford, Connecticut to Walter Anthony and Anna Kapesky Rich. He attended the McKenzie First Cumberland Presbyterian Church was an US Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War, a graduate of the University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, Connecticut graduating with a BS in Engineering and was involved with the team who helped correct the Hubble Telescope’s optic in the 1990’s.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and two brothers Diana Vivian, Wesley Rich, and Douglas Rich.    Survivors include his wife Glynda Finley Rich of McKenzie, four sons Glenn (Tammy) Corbin 0f Smyrna, TN, Eric (Kristi) Corbin of Champaign, Illinois, Andy ( Magan) Corbin of Medina, TN, and Patrick (April) Corbin of McKenzie, also survived by two nieces Vallerie Vivian and Paula Carlson, and eight grandchildren.   Honorary Pallbearers will be Mark Holloman, Bill Kreuter, Dave Peters, Joe Sam, Dan Quinn, Sam Wheat, Tom Keenan, and Bobby Allen.    The family has requested to please consider in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the McKenzie First Cumberland Presbyterian Church Building Fund.   Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  For more information please call (731) 352-4848 or visit www.brummittmckenziefuneralhome.com.
