Leon Mullins

  Dateline: McKenzie, Tennessee   Services for Leon Mullins, 68, will be held Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 9:30 am at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home with Brother Ronnie McClure officiating.  Interment will follow at the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Pegram, TN with Military Funeral Honors at 1:45 pm until 2:00 pm.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 from 8:30 am until service time.  Mr. Mullins, a retired Union Painter, died Thursday, March 9, 2017 at his residence.  He was born on August 2, 1948 in Grundy, Virginia to Jack and Virginia May Royal Mullins. He was Pentecostal in faith, an US Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War 1967-1969, and a member of McKenzie Veterans of Foreign Wars VFW Post #4939.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Mary Lou Mullins, a sister Jerri Holbrook and a brother Johnny Mullins all of Indiana.    Survivors include his wife Barbara Russell Mullins of McKenzie, daughters Belinda Mullins, Amy (Mike) Harness, a step daughter Maddison (Hunter) Bynum, his sons Donny (Dana) McCarty, Jeff (Tia) McCarty, Little Leon (Shari) Mullins, a step son Michael Morgan, sisters Jackie Barnett, Debbra Richie, Joanna Jensen, his brothers Jimmy Mullins, Butch Mullins, Frankie Mullins, and 13 grandchildren.   Pallbearers who will be serving are Michael Morgan, Jimmy Mullins, Jeff McCarty, Jamie Rodriquez, Nicholas Hesford, and Eddie Rodriquez.      Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  For more information please call (731) 352-4848 or visit www.brummittmckenziefuneralhome.com.
