Caroline Jean Dailey

Caroline (Carole) Jean Dailey, aged 71, passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 8th after a brief battle with cancer.   Funeral services will be held at 1pm this Saturday, March 11th, at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home in McKenzie, TN with visitation immediately preceding beginning at 11am. Carole was born, May 14th, 1945 in Hawaii and was raised in Chicago through the Catholic Charities Foster Care system.   Never having parents or a family of her own, Carole made it her life’s mission to provide a loving environment to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and to those she cared for through her work in hospice and assisted living and to anyone who crossed her path.  Carole was a lifelong caregiver having found her calling running the McKenzie Retirement Center for many years, Hospice and later at Lakeside Assisted Living.  Carole made everyone she knew feel like family and would give the last dime she had to those in need. A cheerful giver, Carole donated to every charity and organization that ever asked and will be sorely missed as a regular contributor to more than a dozen charities.   Her random cards with ‘ice cream money’, birthday money for the years old you were, midnight calls on your birthday, cookie jars and candy treats, picnics and and her kind heart and warm hugs will forever be missed by her adoring family as well.    Carole was preceded in death by her beloved husband Carl Preston Dailey and granddaughter, Brianna Carole Thomas.  She is survived by her four children, Virginia (Paul) Moore of McKenzie, TN; Daniel Cabrera of Plant City, Florida; Tanya (Phillip) Sanderson of Franklin, TN and Angela (Steven) Hugueley of McKenzie, TN; twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In honor of Carole’s loving and generous spirit, charitable donations can be made to the Carroll County Humane Society or the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
