Jerry "Rawhide" Akins

Dateline: McKenzie, TN  A Memorial service for Jerry “Rawhide” Akins will be held Monday, January 30, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Brummitt- McKenzie Funeral Home. Brother John Forgy will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday, January 29, 2017 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Trezevant, TN.  Mr. Akins, 75, a truck driver, died Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. He was born September 13, 1941 in Trezevant, to Joe and Clara Jennings Akins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters June Merritt and Janice McClain  Survivors include his wife Gale S. Akins of McKenzie, two daughters Dana (Kelly) Headden of Knoxville and Trina (Darbin) Ousley of Trenton, one sister JoElla (Bobby Joe) Lundy of Huntingdon, two grandchildren Garrett (Lindsey) Headden and Elliott Headden.
