James Wesley Jackson

August 21, 1933 — November 2, 2016

Mr. James W. Jackson, 83, of Newnan passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2016.    He was the son of the late James Baker and Hester Pearl Jackson.  James was the foundation of his family.  He set examples that show in the lives of his daughters, granddaughters and great-granddaughter.   He loved unconditionally, had an incredible work ethic, and was honest and trustworthy.   He was looked up to by his family and his employees.    James worked for E & L Transport in Lorain, Ohio, Motor Convoy in Hapeville, Georgia and Nabisco Brands in Atlanta, Georgia.  After his retirement from Nabisco in 1992, he worked for Arbor Springs Golf Course in Newnan, Georgia.   So important in his life was his service to his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1953-1955.  He made many friends in the places he worked and was a respected leader to his co-workers.  He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.   He is survived by  his wife, Ruby Katherine Jackson; two daughters Sherry Johnson and her husband Mike, Judy Gaddy and her husband Dennis, grandchildren, Nicki Gosdin, Megan Hendrick and her husband Corey; great granddaughter, Amelia Hendrick.   In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Newnan-Coweta Humane Society, P.O. Box 785, Newnan, GA  30264   The family will receive friends Saturday, November 26, 2016 from 11:00 am until the memorial service starts at 12 noon at Brummitt- McKenzie Funeral Home where military honors will be conducted, with a private burial taking place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in McKenzie.
