Billy Ray Edwards

  Dateline: McKenzie,TN            Services for Billy Ray Edwards, 85, will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home with Brother Ed Long officiating.  Interment will follow at Everetts Chapel Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until service time.  Mr. Edwards, a retired Laborer, died Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at McKenzie Health Care Center.  He was born on May 5, 1931 in East St. Louis, IL to Raymond and Rena Clyde Montgomery Edwards. He was a member of McKenzie Primitive Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 57 years Freda Jean Davis Edwards, a sister Corene (Roy) Himmer, brother in law Harry Shreve and granddaughter Shawnna Edwards Brittingham.    Survivors include two sons Billy Keith (Tami) Edwards of Buchanan, and Dennis Ray (Gale) Edwards of McKenzie, one sister Novella Shreve of Waterloo, IL, three grandchildren: Jason (Jackie) Edwards, Billy (Tammy) Edwards, Jr., and Chandra Pate; twelve great-grandchildren: Sami, Katie, Izzy Brittingham, Drake, Sophie, Olivia-Kay, Jaden Pate, Abigail, Zachery, Michaiah Edwards, David and William Boals.    Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  For more information please call (731) 352-4848 or visit www.brummittmckenziefuneralhome.com.
