Brooxie Earline Barksdale

  Dateline: McKenzie, Tennessee   Services for Brooxie Earline Barksdale, 95, will be held Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 11:00 am at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home with Reverend Travis Penney officiating.  Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Friday, July 29, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Saturday, July 30, 2016 from 9:30 am until service time.  Mrs. Barksdale, a homemaker, died Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at her residence.  She was born on January 6, 1921 in McKenzie, to Rex Ray and Nell Elizabeth Aden Penney. She was a member of McKenzie First United Methodist Church.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George Warren Barksdale who died September 30, 2012, a daughter Janice Wright, two sisters Gladys Crocker and Doris Penney, two brothers Aden Penny and Reverend Welden Penney.    Survivors include two daughters Alice (Frank) Barrett of Nolensville, TN and Shirley (Ed) Crutchfield of McKenzie, a son Kenneth W. Barksdale of McKenzie, TN, three grandchildren Michael Barrett, LeighAnn Pittman, and Susan Butler, two great grandchildren Samantha Butler and Brooke Logan Barrett.   Pallbearers serving will be Ray Crocker, Glen Penney, Will Penny, Ed Crutchfield and Frank Barrett.    Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  For more information please call (731) 352-4848 or visit www.brummittmckenziefuneralhome.com.
