Services for Barry Joe Wheat, 57, will be held Sunday, August 13, 2006 at 2 p.m. at McKenzie Funeral Home with Rev. Stanley Medlin and Bro. Nathan Horton officiating. Interment will follow at Caledonia Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 12, 2006 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Sunday, August 13, 2006 from 9 a.m. until Service Time. Mr. Wheat, a millwright, died Thursday, August 10, 2006 at McKenzie Healthcare Center. He was born on December 24, 1948 in McKenzie, TN to B.J. and Ethel Modene McCleod Wheat. He was a member of Calvary Tabernacle. He was preceded in death by his father- B.J. Wheat and his sister- Faye Wheat Nored. Survivors include his wife- Brenda Wheat; his mother- Ethel Modene Wheat; 2 daughters- Cheryl (David) McFarland of Milan, TN and Candi (Nick) Lowe of McKenzie, TN; 2 Step-Sons Terry Lynn (Denisea) and William Russell Winstead both of Dresden, TN; 2 brothers- Larry Wheat and Sam (Lisa) Wheat both of McKenzie; 2 Sisters- Mary Burnine of Gleason and Janie Filtz of Dresden, TN; 3 grandchildren and 9 Step-Grandchildren. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society Relay for Life Carroll North.
