A funeral service for Doris L. Smith is Sunday, September 29, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 28, 2019 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Sunday 11:00 a.m. until service time. Internment is at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, McKenzie. Reverend LaTrisha Trull and Reverend Dennis Trull are the officiants.

Mrs. Smith, 91 years old, died Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at Baptist Memorial Hospital. She was born July 8, 1928 in McKenzie, TN to Thomas Clarence and Cora Bell Lankford. She is a retired sales clerk for Ben Franklin, and assistant for McKenzie Elementary and Middle School Libraries and a member of First United Methodist Church McKenzie. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe Smith and brother Merrill Lankford.

She is survived by her son Larry Joe (Tiffany)Smith of McKenzie, sister Ruth Byron Metcalf of McKenzie, three grandchildren Marshall (Dana) Smith, Kendall (Aimee) Smith and Collin (Regan Toombs) Smith,  five great-grandchildren Scarlett Smith, Juliette Smith, Landyn Smith, Carson Dycus, Katelyn (James) Blake and one great-great grandson J.J.
