Funeral services for Gary Richard Townes are Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Brummitt McKenzie Funeral Home. Interment is at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, and Brother Kenny Carr is the officiant. Pallbearers to serve are Dylan Nolin, Chance Townes, Olen Reed, Zachary Annis, Will Jones, Jon Grandowicz, Keith Prince and Curtis Saylor. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at 5:00p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, 9:00a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Townes, 69 years old, is a retired construction and maintenance man and also a cowboy. He was born in McKenzie on May 27, 1954, to Jamie and Agnes Moore Townes.  He married Sherry Gearin on March 25, 1972.

He is survived by his wife Sherry Townes, two daughters Amy Reed and her husband Timothy, Tina Annis and her husband Mike, a son Jeffrey Townes and his wife Jennifer, three sisters Shirley Carter, Bettye Black, and Gail Higdon and her husband Donald, two brothers Terry Townes and his wife Brenda and Billy Townes, eight grandchildren Darby Jones and her husband Will, Olen Reed, Dylan Nolin and his wife Ali, Tiffany Nolin and her husband John, Olivia Nolin, Zachary Annis, Chance Townes and his wife Heather and Kendall Prince and her husband Keith. And three great-grandchildren Eva Townes, Declan Townes and Sernia Grandowicz

He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister Linda Townes, and brothers Larry Townes and Ronnie Townes.
